Sacred Sleep

A holistic approach to better sleep that employs hypnotherapy to reacquaint you with the natural rhythms of night and day

Sleep disorders and stress-related conditions are among the most prevalent health issues in our culture.

Solivagant’s offerings encourage a mindset shift in our relationship to night, sleep and dreams, and provide a practical, mindful approach to treating the factors – such as stress, anxiety and rumination – that get in the way of healthy sleep.

In addition to reframing negative thinking about sleep and promoting sleep hygiene, Solivagant’s offerings explore both the sacred dimensions and the vast spiritual potential of night and the realm of sleep and dreams.

Solivagant’s approach is, however, secular, and readily applicable to any spiritual tradition or none.

This holistic and integrative approach is by no means new. Since time immemorial and across cultures, the night has been sanctified and celebrated through a vast array of social and sacred rituals. Regard for the sacred dimensions of night, sleep and dreams is a core feature of both Eastern and Western wisdom traditions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Only by redeeming this dimension of night, can we truly heal our contemporary culture’s disordered relationship with sleep and dreams.

CLIENT REVIEWS

The Sacred Sleep hypnotherapy sessions are a wonderful way to relax and let go of stress. By encouraging reflection, they helped me to identify worries and expectations that were getting in the way of a good night’s sleep. It was also fascinating to learn more about humans’ cultural and physiological relationship with nighttime.

If you find yourself tangled up in your thoughts after a difficult day, Jan’s calming voice will guide you through meditations and visualizations that will allow you to focus on more pleasant things.

I ended each session feeling happier and more peaceful, as well as more confident in my ability to set aside what was bothering me and trust in the healing qualities of sleep.
